Brasília is the federal capital of Brazil and the seat of government of the Federal District. The city is located along the Brazilian Highlands in the country's Central-West region. It was founded on April 21, 1960, to serve as the new national capital. Brasília, easily the fastest growing major city in the country, had an estimated population of 4,645,843(2020). It has a federal presidential constitutional republic, which is based on a representative democracy (it's current president is Jair Bolsonaro).
